CALABARZON
COLLEGE
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The
CALABARZON college scholarship program is open to public and private
schools in the CALABARZON region.
Selection for the CALABARZON college scholarship
program is based on a competitive application process. It is open to
the first twenty (20) of the top thirty (30) graduating high school
students of each participating school in the CALABARZON region.
Applicants must be legitimate residents of CALABARZON and have
certification from their school Principal or Guidance Counselor that
they belong to the top thirty (30) of their graduating class.
Interested applicants are required to fill out and submit the
scholarship program’s application form and take the written
examination. Once the examination results have been determined, a
short list of applicants shall be invited for an interview with a
select panel of judges. These judges in turn shall determine which
applicants qualify for the CALABARZON scholarship.
There are ten (10) slots for the Jose Rizal
Scholarship, twenty (20) slots for the Emilio Aguinaldo Scholarship,
forty (40) slots for the Manuel Quezon Scholarship, and ten (10)
slots for the Apolinario Mabini Scholarship available for the
program.
Interested applicants may inquire with their school
principals or guidance counselors for more information and to get a
copy of the application form. Application forms are also available
at First Asia Institute.
SEARCH FOR ACADEMIC
EXCELLENCE
The
CALABARZON Search for Academic Excellence program, conducted
simultaneously with the CALABARZON College Scholarship program and
General Admissions Test, aims to recognize top qualifiers among all
participating schools.
The
Search for Academic Excellence is competitive as there are limited
number of slots open every year.
Enjoyment of privileges granted under the Search for Academic
Excellence is subject to the grade maintenance requirement that the
scholars must meet every semester.
FIRST ASIA
MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
High
school valedictorians and salutatorians who will enroll at First
Asia Institute are eligible for full scholarships subject to the
results of the written examination and interview upon recommendation
of the scholarship committee.
ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP
Entrance
scholarships are awarded to the top 60 examinees among all
participants of the Calabarzon College Scholarship program and
General Admissions Test (only up to the Regular General Admissions
Test).
COURSE SPECIFIC
SCHOLARSHIP
First
Asia Institute also awards course specific scholarships to deserving
students such as the Project:PEPE (Promoting Excellence in
Philippine Education) scholarships for Education students in
partnership with Bato Balani Foundation Inc and the Diwa Asia
Publishing Group.
BATANGAS
PROVINCE
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The
BAPROSA–First Asia Institute Scholarship is a joint undertaking of
the Batangas Provincial School Board and the First Asia Institute of
Technology and Humanities. The Scholarship is open to all public
and private school students in the province of Batangas interested
in pursuing their college degrees. It is also open to college
students who have stopped their schooling due to financial
difficulties.
In order to be eligible for a BAPROSA scholarship,
interested applicants must be legitimate residents of Batangas with
a total family income not exceeding P72,000. They must have
submitted a completed application form for the scholarship and
passed the First Asia Institute Entrance Test and must not be
enjoying any other scholarship grants from other institutions.
Further, in order to qualify they must pass an interview with the
screening committee of the Batangas Provincial School Board.
Scholars who qualify under the BAPROSA Scholarship
Program are entitled to a total of P14,000.00 per semester for
Tuition and Basic Miscellaneous Fees until the scholar graduates.
They are also expected to show noteworthy academic performance
every semester.
Interested applicants may inquire about the
scholarship at the BAPROSA office in Batangas City or at First Asia
Institute.
PD 577 SCHOLARSHIP
GRANT
The grant, as
provided by PD 577, exempts the dependents of Military Personnel who
died or become incapacitated in the Line of Duty from the payment of
tuition and matriculation fees in public or private schools,
universities, colleges, and other educational institutions.
The grant covers
tuition and matriculation fees only. Miscellaneous fees shall be
borne by the recipient. It may be enjoyed by any one of the
following: spouse and unmarried children of married personnel;
parent of unmarried military personnel
Qualified dependents
shall file the application at the Office of Student
Affairs/Scholarship Committee together with all the required
supporting documents. The deadline for filing of application is one
day prior to the last day of the regular enrollment. Applicants must
pass the entrance examinations to be eligible.
