First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities hosts the second Calabarzon-Mimaropa Youth Leadership Learning Adventure (CAMYLLA) on October 26-28, 2009 at the FAITH campus in Tanauan City Batangas. The leadership conference is open to 3rd year and 4th year High School student leaders from private and public schools in Calabarzon and Mimaropa.
Among the speakers for this year’s leadership conference are Efren Peñaflorida, founder of the Dynamic Teen Company who is the first Filipino to be featured in CNN’s “Heroes,” Raul Dominic Badilla, Asst. Secretary of the National Youth Commission, Mr. Mark Ruiz of Hapinoy and Rags2Riches, a company providing product development, marketing, sales, and community development services to the women of Payatas, Kelly Austria of Trails to Empower Kids (TREK), a group of young mountaineers that deliver aid to mountain dwellers, and Fr. Jojo Gonda of The Padre Pio Parish in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
“This year, FAITH and our partner Bato Balani Foundation Inc (BBFI) would like to introduce the young leaders of Calabarzon to young Filipinos who are making a big difference by helping their fellowmen. These are the new breed of “heroes” of our generation. We hope that our participants realize that like these young men and women, they too can contribute a lot to make our country better,” said Ms. Maro Agito, of the FAITH Office of Student Affairs, organizer of the program.
