    Mentoring Program for the Freshmen

To provide the students with guidance as they face the challenges of College life, the Institute launched the mentoring program. Initially for Education students, the program has been expanded to include all the courses. Faculty members will act as mentors to each student to check his or her academic performance, to help resolve concerns and generally oversee the development of the student as an individual and a true professional.

The POWER Series

POWER, which stands for Plan, Organize, Work, Evaluate and Rethink, is a series of seminars focused on matters affecting the academic life of a college student.

Among the topics discussed in the seminars are improving study habits, time management, systematic and organized studying, and balancing academic and extracurricular activities.

The Reading Program

The Institute has recently launched the DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) campaign for the Unified School. The program aims to develop the students’ interest for reading. A similar campaign will be launched for College as part of the Institute’s Reading Program.

International diagnostic reading tests are given at the beginning of every school year to measure the vocabulary and comprehension of all students and faculty. Intervention programs are designed to enhance the reading skills.

The English Program

Recognizing the importance of English as a universal language, the Institute is giving emphasis on the students’ English communication skills. Students are required to speak and write in English in all subjects whenever applicable.

Commencing school year 2004-2005, First Asia has launched the Vocabulary Building Program for its students and faculty.

Regular Field Trips to Metro Manila and Other Key Cities

FAITH students regularly visit important places in Metro Manila and other key cities as part of their course requirement. This is to familiarize them to the important sites in these cities especially those that are related to their courses.

Spiritual Activities and Seminars on Values

A healthy relationship with the Creator is very important in order to become a total individual. FAITH’s Office of Student Affairs organizes spiritual activities and seminars on values to help the students not only become able individuals but also responsible members of society.

The Institute also conducts outreach programs and fund raising activities in coordination with the different barangays and churches in the community.
